Dr. Mendelson is a cardiologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the medical director of the Center for Women's Cardiovascular Health of the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute. Her special interests include heart disease in women and heart disease during pregnancy. She is a member of the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation and the founder of the Adult Congenital Heart Center.
A leader in the study of women and cardiac diseases, Dr. Mendelson is the director of the largest program for the care of women with heart disease during pregnancy. She has also been the National Speaker for Cardiovascular Disease in Women.
An associate professor of medicine and pediatrics at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, Dr. Mendelson conducts research on heart disease during pregnancy, heart disease in women and adult congenital heart disease. She is a member of the Kathy Lewis Cardiology Fellows.
Dr. Mendelson graduated from Loyola University Medical School in 1982. She went on to complete her internship and residency at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago and a fellowship at the Feinberg School of Medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.
